Andy Gilmore - Geometric illustations, big on colour

Andy Warhol - Pop art. American, popular culture.

Alexander Rodchenko - Russian constructivist artist. Innovator and variety of work. Construction with materials, photo montage and cut and paste. Use of negatives.

Adrian Frutiger - Swiss. Road sign type, designed Univers typeface.

Carol Twombly - American graphic designer, designed Trajan and adobe fonts.

Claude Garamond - Designed Garamond, Grajon  and Sabon. 

Catalogue - Leeds based design collective. Print based, riso prints, screenprints. Kind of post modern feel to it, very basic, but manipulated. Zine feel to their work. Big on layouts.


Chase Kunz - Illustrator, Designer. Colourful, simplistic work. Really like it. Lends itself to screenprint well.

Danny Sangra - 2d and 3d work, seems to be very open and have a lot of variety. Installations in shops, London

Dan Cassaro - Americ graphic designer, very much into logos and branding. Retro aesthetic, good with colours and simplicity.


Dr. Me - Design studio based in Manchester. Cut and paste looks, photomontage.

Emily Allison - Brooklyn, woman, travels alot. Like her screenprints

Erik Spiekermann - German typographer and designer. Berliner Grotesk. FF Meta. Officina Sans.

Herbert Bayer - Typographer, cool graphic designer. Did Bauhaus annuals, work is synonymous with Bauhaus. Made a universal typeface combining upper and lowercase characters.

Isabel Greenberg - Illustrator, comics, screenprint, won many awards. Her work has a quirky feel

Ignio Lardani - title design for The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Jessica Hische - Works with books and type a lot. Quirky quality, her website and portfolio comes across as very personal

Jamie Reid - punk art movement, cut and paste aesthetic, anti establishment. Sex pistols


Jason Munn - Makes posters and illustrative graphic design. Big on clever ideas and minimalist design.


Jez Burrows - Designer, illustrator, woodland appreciator, wristwatch enthusiast. Product Designer at Facebook.


Jay Cover - Design for print. Minimal approach, layout and type. Screenprints. Affiliated with Catalogue, member of Nous Vous

Jon Boam - illustrator. quirky.

Jock -comic book artist, done Batmn: Black Mirror and Scalped

Kurt Volk - graphic designer and illustrator - did posters for DeathProof, very vivid design, similar to Olly Moss and Saul Bass, designs and illustrations very much 2D based, lend themselves to posters and print/layouts very well. Collectibles.


KesselsKramer - Cool experimental layouts, design group by Erik Kessels. Studios in places such as Amsterdam and London

LaBoca design studio - graphic design and advertising studio. Did posters for The Black Swan


Little White Lies - Movie magazine, news reviews etc. Highly stylised and creative. Often have guest artists or student competition winners design the front cover and create alternate music posters.

Matt Chase - American graphic designer, does really sleek and interesting branding and emblematic logos, also good at illustrating type

Muller Brockman - Notable for clean, Swiss style design. Swiss graphic designer. Use of Akzidenz Grotesk

Max Miedlinger - Swiss design, typographer. Neue Haas Grotesk. 


McBess - Illustration. Hand-done feel, always black and white. Really interesting and intricate. Cutesy but at the same time, quite grown up aesthetic. Beards, big hairs and tattoos. Music.


Mark Hoew - illustrator. Quirky.

Noma Bar - Works widely for print for spreads/posters/sales. Trademark negative space style creating illustrations within illustrations using natural space

Otto Neurath
Olly Moss - UK based graphic designer, heavily print based, clients include LucasArts, Studio Ghibli and variety of magazines and books for spreads etc. Screenprint visual style, very much into stylised posters and illustrations ready for print/spreads. Very much into this style

Roy Lichtenstein - pop culture, pop art. social context, high art/low art. American.

Richard Perez - Illustrator, designer. Quirky illustrations. Consistent with colours, uses red, blue, whites and greys very regularly.


Radio - NZ based design agency, did really cool posters for Mad Men tv series.

Sean Freeman - Photomanips, very professional and corporate feel sometimes. UK based, very good with type and calligraphy

Shepard Fairey - stencils, screenprints, street art, use of red black and off white. Illustrative and print based graphic design. Heavily 2D, big into posters like me.

Saul Bass - graphic designer and title designer, heavy use of colour and symbolism with simplicity. Less literal approach brought to design.

Stefan Sagmeister - Austrian born in 1962. visual communicater, post-modern. Typographer, Mostly print. Layouts/posters/very rarely does digital.


Stanley Chow - Caricature and illustrations of celebrity figures mainly. But very stylised and simplified. Simplified shapes and gradients.

Tyler Stout - Alternate movie posters and game box art. Black and white illustration, intricate but nice balance. Cool compositions, reminiscent of Japanese movies. Did Sleeping Dogs box art.

50and50 - Project by Dan Cassaro, 50 states, 50 pieces by 50 different graphic designers. Really cool, clean and simple style with handmade aesthetic but also very finished.

123Klan - street art, urban culture graphic design and street art. Some clients such as Stussy and Nike.
