The gradient spine im flirting with at the moment is a nod to Japanese design along with the serif font and subtle use of icons and imagery to give the layout a little bit more character than what a typical European modernist layout had in the 50's and 60's, so I'm trying to combine the two to create a collaboration at the moment, but a subtle one. It will be a refreshing change from the posters which will be much more visual and less discreet in the application of characteristics.
