SPEECH TIPS

Again, bestmanguide has been really useful.

so from that I took:

  • Don't be offensive, there's people of all ages there. Although you do need to give the groom abit of a roasting but not in an awkward, uncomfortable manner
  • Keep it short. Everyone wants to leg it to the bar. Public speaking experts suggest 7-12 minutes is optimum length for your speech.
  • Keep it snappy. Have a gag every few lines, so if one joke fails the next one's coming up.
  • Don't forget to mention the bride! Don't just keep it about the groom and yourself
  • Relax, everyone's on your side
  • Get everyone as pissed as possible, that way it doesn't matter how bad your speech is
  • Don't even mention any previous marriages, pretend he's all innocent and it's his first marriage
